Wayne Wilsher

Wayne Arthur Wilsher of Utopia passed away on February 1, 2013 at his residence at the age of 78. He was born on October 25, 1934 in San Perlita,TX to Arthur and Famie Hudson Wilsher. He married Cleo Childers in Edinburg, TX on May 29, 1958. Wayne was the head coach at Sharyland High School, Ingleside High School, and Coronado High School in Lubbock, TX. He was the principal of Sharyland High School from 19721974, and the principal of Sharyland Elementary School from 19761983. His other occupations included Wayne Wilsher Grove Care, and Wayne Wilsher Real Estate. He attended Mission Church of Christ, Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock, Pleasanton Church of Christ, and Utopia Church of Christ. Wayne built and established the Utopia Golf Course in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cleo Wilsher of Utopia son, Raymond Wilsher and wife, Beth of El Campo, TX daughters, Karen Green and husband, Alan of San Antonio, and Ellen Jo McDonald and husband, Chris of Utopia brother, Ron Wilsher of Floresville, TX sister, Marlene White of Cedar Park, TX seven grandchildren, Alex Wilsher Megan Wilsher Evelyn Green Cole Green Dustin McDonald Krista McDonald and Ashley McDonald. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Kylie McDonald. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Utopia with burial to follow in Waresville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Green Chris McDonald Calvin McDonald DeWayne French Leo Childers and Claude Childers. Memorial donations may be made to the Utopia Church of Christ.
