On December 3, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas William Earl Elrod of Uvalde was transported from his earthy life to his eternal home and into the loving arms of Our Lord and Savior. Will was born July 28, 1960 in Uvalde, Texas to Dardus and Dayse Love Adams Elrod.
Will grew up on the farm in La Pryor until the family moved to the city Uvalde in 1974. He graduated from Uvalde High School and Southwest Texas Junior College. Will felt he was born a century too late and enjoyed the simple way of life. He enjoyed pitching washers and horseshoes, playing dominoes, cards, checkers, and a marble board game.
Will was an artisan who enjoyed working with metal, wood, and ropes creating memories for family and friends to treasure forever. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the great outdoors and all its natural resources. One of his favorite pastimes was hunting arrowheads, which was instilled at an early age by his maternal grandmother. William was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
Above all, Will was a faithful husband and a devoted father who attended all his sons events including practices.
After an eight year courtship, Will married Jody Kai Harrison on May 20, 1995 in Charlotte, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 19 12 years son, Trenton Chance Elrod of Lubbock mother, Dayse Love Elrod of Uvalde sister, Lindy Elrod of La Pryor, brothers, Cody Elrod, Ben Elrod and wife, Chris, all of Uvalde brother Jed Elrod and wife, Susan of La Vernia along with nieces Chesley Clark, Audra Elrod, and Kalia Elrod and nephews Brandon Elrod, Casey Elrod, Lance Elrod, Justin House, Kennan Dishman, Derek Elrod, and Adam Elrod.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dardus Elrod, beautiful niece, Jena Elrod, two sistersinlaw Nancy Elrod and Jean Ann Elrod, along with his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 North Getty Street, Uvalde, Texas.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Herby Ham Adult Activity Center, PO Box 5488, Uvalde, Texas 78802 or Les Feldick Ministries, 30706 West Lona Valley Road, Kinta, OK 74552 or a charity close to your heart.
