William Hynson

WILLIAM HYNSON passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 in Houston, Texas at the age of 94. He was born on March 4, 1920 in Comanche, Oklahoma. William served two tours of duty in the service. First in the Army, then later in the Air Force, where he participated in 53 flight missions as a B17 tailgunner with the 301st Bomb Group. Upon his second discharge in 1943, he married his bride of 69 years, Wanda Beatrice Cox, in Camp Wood, Texas. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 31 years and retired to Vance, Texas in 1984. William was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Hynson. He is survived by 5 children, Linda Simon of Houston; Virginia Hynson of Spring, TX; Darrell Hynson of Houston; Lois Dewey of Houston; and Dennis Hynson of Albuquerque, NM; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at 3pm at the First Baptist Church, Vance, Texas. Burial will follow in Vance Cemetery.
