Wilma Upchurch

Wilma Loreta Upchurch of Camp Wood, formerly of Batesville, passed away on October 17, 2009 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. She was born on May 2, 1930 in Uvalde to Ray and Alta Gary. She married Henry T. Upchurch, Jr. in Bloomington, TX on September 1, 1949. She is survived by a daughter, Merri Upchurch of Uvalde; two sons, Kenneth Tater Upchurch and wife, Debbie of Camp Wood; and John C. Penney, Sr. and wife, Sandy of Navasota, TX; a brother, Mike Gary of Carter, OK; four sisters, Rose Bomer of Corpus Christi, TX; Emma Bomer and Pat Bomer husband, Ben, all of Utopia; and Sharon Gary of Camp Wood; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and father of her children, Henry T. Upchurch, Jr.; parents; brother, George Toby Melvin Gary; daughter, Jerri Lynette Upchurch; grandson, Sammy Tuki West; and granddaughter, Stephanie Bowden. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Batesville Cemetery. Pastor Jerry Fortune will officiate.
