Winnie Mae Edmiston Owens of Uvalde passed away on October 16, 2018 in Uvalde at the age of 95. She was born on March 4, 1923 in Floydada, Texas to Reed Thomas and Florence Searbin (Williamson) Stribling. She married Horace Reeder Owens in Midland, Texas on May 26, 1972.
Winnie was an active member of the Central Christian Church in Sabinal.
She is survived by her daughters, Kay Kinsey and husband, Bill of Dilley, Gwen Harris and husband, Billy Dean of Junction and Sherian King and husband, William of Imperial; 6 grandchildren, Janna Prasek, Mark Kinsey, Chris Kinsey, Monique Bowles, Cindee Dietrich, and Todd Harris; 10 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her second husband, Horace Reeder Owens; first husband, Lawson Eugene Edmiston; sister, Jewel Teeple and brother, R.T. Stribling.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment will be Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at East Hills Cemetery in Fort Stockton.
